DESCRIPTION: |
JAC Planning Corp. is providing public
participation and planning support services to Allee King Rosen &
Fleming, as Prime Consultant under this contract with the Long Island
Rail Road. This EIS project, which will build on the work already
performed as part of the LIRR’s Long Term Operations and Maintenance
Strategy and the East Side Access Final Environmental Impact Statement,
will identify potential sites for a new branch yard on the Port
Jefferson Branch, perform screening analyses, identify potential
environmental impacts, develop mitigation measures and conduct community
outreach.
JAC Planning’s responsibilities on this contract
include assisting AKRF and the LIRR in the following:
 | Setting up the public outreach structure to be
carried out through the EIS |
 | Compile and maintain a project mailing list
consisting of the affected and interested parties to build
relationships with stakeholders |
 | Conducting meetings with interested groups,
organizations and individuals. |
 | Conducting public outreach efforts required to
complete EIS tasks including Notice of Intent, Public Scoping, and
Public Hearing for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, and
responding to public inquiries and comments. |
 | Documenting public outreach methods and contact
with the public. |
